INTRODUCTION:

We all know Edhi Sahab and his organization very well. It is a non-profit social welfare organization based in Pakistan and Edhi Sahab served as the head of the non-profit social welfare organization. Edhi sb used to stand on the street begging for money. He would collect the smallest amount of money he would get for the foundation. The Edhi Foundation provides 24-hour emergency assistance across the entirety of Pakistan and internationally The Foundation provides, among many other services, a shelter for the destitute, free hospitals and medical care, and national and international relief efforts. The organization’s main focuses are emergency services, education, healthcare, international community centers, refugees, missing persons, blood donation & drug rehabilitation banks, ambulances services, and marine and coastal services.

AMAL ACADEMY FELLOWSHIP ACTIVITY:

We all have learned in our previous sessions and different activities about problem-solving leadership and push yourself and out of your comfort zones and accepting failure. In the Amal fellowship, we have an activity for collecting money for the Edhi foundation. In the first part, we all make a strategy and discuss how we all collect funds for the Edhi Foundation. First, we all have a huge discussion in our meeting and discuss how we start and how we reach out to the people in our networks. and strangers as well. One of our group members make posters and we all starting to post on our social media networks throughout the two weeks. Our two members also have Jazz Cash and Easy paisa to collect more funds.

The Experience of collecting funds for a social cause and collection of funds and the challenges we face, and overcome those challenges and how difficult we all are facing.

Members Responses:

It was a little bit difficult to raise funds in this pandemic, as unknown people refused to help, and since educational institutions, are all closed. So, there were very few chances to collect funds in University.

It was a bit difficult task because the majority of the people did not respond the way we were expecting and convincing them through social media is always difficult as compared to face to face communication.

It was not much exciting as was expected, people are not responding and not showing interest in donating.

I collected funds individually by making phones to my friends and colleagues.

I Could not collect funds as the majority of the people in my contacts are unemployed students and the rest of them did not respond at all even when I approached them.

I tried but didn’t get a response as many of contacts are students and others are facing challenges in their jobs due to pandemic.

I try a lot in my circles and family members but Peoples said that now they are not willing as they face some challenges in jobs sectors and some of them lost their jobs as well.

I try but I didn’t get any positive feedback from anybody in my circles.

Some people told me they gave donations/Fundings in every year or twice a year but now they are also some issues regarding finance.

I cant collect any funds yet but I will try more to get some positive responses.

Since I collected funds by making phones. So it was not so challenging.

The major challenge was to convince the people but I could not over the challenger, unfortunately.

The Biggest challenge is to convince people to help in the pandemic situation, One of our Circle Member is also created some posters so that people can show interest and donate

I think people had their reasons as well and that is why we could not generate funds and I think it’s okay.

The people are kind but due to the situation, they are not contributing.

CONCLUSION:

We all are trying to communicate with more people and help for this social cause and we will think of more ways how to communicate with more relevant peoples and how to convince more by sharing posts using social media and we all are hoping to get a positive response as soon.
